Our free car park can accommodate up to 100 cars and is situated adjacent to the green and clubhouse.
Below is an overview of our activities. (Click on each Blue Heading to go to the page or website)
Our excellent green and clubhouse are situated on the Memorial Hall land close to the centre of the village of West Moors in Dorset.
We are a private club with outstanding year round facilities for lawn bowls and short mat bowls. Our green accommodates 7 rinks and is now acknowledged as one of the best in the area. Our clubhouse, just 19 years old, accommodates two short mat bowls carpets for use during the winter months. The bar and kitchen are amongst the best in West Moors and we can and do run regular social events for our members throughout the year.
The Leagues in which we are involved are:
Both ladies & men play in the Bournemouth & Dorset Leagues, the men only play in the New Forest Leagues. Click on any of the above to follow our progress throughout the season.
Internal Competitions and Casual Play
Each season we run our own league and roll-up programmes, namely our Friday Night Triples and Monday Roll-up competition. These are open to all Playing Members of any ability. There are also knock-out competitions for ladies, men & mixed culminating in our Club Finals weekend in August.
Our Coaching programme is centered on new bowlers taking up the game. Recently we have been able to attract younger players from age 10 years upwards eager to learn the game and progress into our league teams. Our coaches are well qualified and dedicated. They also run occasional seminars for more experienced players helping to improve their techniques.
Our Coaching days for start of 2020 season was to be Mon 20th April and Fri 24th April THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
We have two full length mats which are used from end-September until April. This is the largest section of the Club with close to 100 members. We offer a specific membership for Short Mat to players from neighbouring outdoor clubs. There are also special sessions organised for disabled bowlers and for young people. Short Mat bowlers can also take advantage of all social events and facilities of the club.
From October to April we have an impressive series of social activities in the clubhouse. The programme for 2019/20 comprised of skittles; Race Night; Bingo; Quizzes; Spring & Autumn fairs; Wine tasting; Murder Mystery evenings acted out by our own members; Christmas lunch and New Year celebration. Many of these events are accompanied by food and a good range of drinks from the bar. Each month there is a coffee morning with speakers. The Bowls season ends with a Presentation of Trophies lunch at an outside venue.
